Notes on the Guitar Fretboard
In music theory, the chromatic scale is a musical scales that with 12 different pitches, each a semitone above or below one another. The guitar fretboard is composed based on a chromatic scale, with each fret one semi-tone above the other. The lowest note on the fretboard is a low E and each fret towards the guitar body is a semi-tone above. However, because we it is difficult to move up the fretboard constantly, when playing notes we play the same note on a different string.
